Morocco88’s October tour will bring student-created songs to five cities, in collaboration with Germany’s Cardellino string quartet and pianist Kimball Gallagher.
Morocco88's Awtar Tour is scheduled for October 3-9, 2026, with performances planned in Nador, Fez, Rabat, Casablanca, and Marrakech. Six songs created by student music clubs have been selected for the programme.

Original songs on a shared stage
The selected works are being arranged for string quartet, choir, and the clubs that composed them. Students will perform alongside Germany's Cardellino Streichquartett and Kimball Gallagher, founder of 88 International.
“Li Fat,” written by the club at Lycée Chraibi in Kenitra, is planned for every stop. The collaboration begins with music students have already created, bringing their songs into a new ensemble setting.

A club grows around a song
At Lycée Chraibi, Nour's Morocco88 club began with three students. Creating “Li Fat” helped draw more classmates into the group. The song is now part of the tour selection.
Speaking to MWN Lifestyle, Nour described learning “how to lead, how to collaborate, and how to trust my own voice.” Her account connects the performance to the smaller group in which the song began.
The work before the tour
Morocco88 operates through after-school music clubs in secondary schools, in partnership with Morocco's Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports. It currently reports a record 76 clubs, 3,108 active participants, 3,691 students reached, and 138 students trained. The programme also reports 72 original songs and videos.
These figures describe the wider programme, rather than participation in the October tour. Behind the selected songs is a network of clubs in which students organize activities, make music, and take responsibility for their groups.
Across 88 International's school-club model, students elect leaders, manage their clubs throughout the year, and receive leadership and creativity training. They create songs and organise community events. Alumni continue to mentor clubs after leaving secondary school, and some train to lead workshops for younger members.
The tour will give part of that work a public stage. Its preparations bring together student songwriting, club leadership, and collaboration with visiting musicians—activities that connect the concerts to the programme throughout the school year.
